Probably one of the most important thing you will ever do is to advertise your site.
But how do you do it?

Articles: When writing an article about your site, you got to keep in mind that's it's an article not an advertisement. Whats the different you may ask?
An article is self-promoting, of-course you can write self-promoting ads as well, but articles must always be that.

Get people interested, get them hyped up about your subject, so hyped up that want to continue reading more on your site. That's right, you never give them all the info in the article, instead you provide a link for them to read more at your site, that's how articles work.
You can also put links in the content, such as: "and suddenly i stumbled across this great seo website."
Giving them a link to what you say is a great website, in other word your very own.

Pictures are always appreciated in articles as well, have the pictures link to your site since many will click them.
The pictures should of-course relate to your content.

Advertisements: They should represent your site at it's best, as a flawless thing that will give exactly what it says. You can write short ads, have banners (an image that is shown on websites linking to you) or long ads.
Banners gets the most attention, next comes short ads, then long.
Reason: People do not look at ads that much nowadays, they are "ad-blind".
A picture says more than a thousand words, a short text is easy to read, a long text is just boring.

A very good site to get free traffic from ads is iBrowzFreeAds.
Though be aware that your should NOT use your real email, it will be bombarded with spam.
Free ads does NOT bring a very targeted traffic, but it provides links to your site.

Best way is always to pay for ads using Google Adwords or other sites.
