Website goal/purpose.

So you're starting a website huh, or have you already started one?
It doesn't matter if it's a blog, website, forum or a pure business site.
It needs to fill a purpose on the web and for you, you must also have a goal with the site.

Lets use this site as an example.
The reason we decided to create this website was because good SEO tutorials is hard to find.
They were either expensive, badly structured, lacking skill and love or just plain boring.
So we put up a plan for the site we were going to create.
1. It will be free.
2. Try find a name people actually search for.
3. Really stay to the subject of the site.
4. Make the tutorials easy to read, simple to follow and not too long.

With that in mind it wasn't really that difficult.
If you like to write about something, go for it!
There is a much bigger chance that you will succeed with a website that you like but has low amount of visitors at start, than a site with a really active subject that you are not interested in.

Conclusion:
Ask yourself the following: what do I like doing? Am I doing it for the money of for fun?
Do I have the patience to wait while the site slowly climbs up the search rankings?
Will I get bored of the subject too fast?

If you have figured that out, please continue to the next page.
