Indexing and Sitemaps.

Your are near the end now, keep reading!

Lets say you have chosen a host to use, you now need to get your site in to the search engines.

The first thing you should do is to submit your site to these three websites:
Google.
Yahoo.
Bing.
When that is done it will take about 1-2 weeks at most until your website shows up on the search engines.

When indexing to search engines it it always a good idea to submit a sitemap aswell.
A sitemap is a php, xml etc page on your website that only has links to your websites pages.
This will help the search engines to find all your pages and content faster and easier.
So make a site named "site-map.php" or similar and send it in using your search engine account.

While-time you can go here: AddUrl.
It has a list of search engines that you can submit to.
Be aware, you might get spam to your mail, so use a safe mail address that is not your main address.

Some of you might ask why you have to submit everything by yourself?
It's because the search engines doesn't know where to look otherwise.

Using a system that submits your site to hundreds of search engines at the same time can be really bad for your SEO.
Since most often they are out of date or does not provide everything the search engine needs to know about your site. Such as description, keywords, owner etc.

If you got a blog, then this website will be making wonders for you: PingoMatic.
It sends ping requests from your blog to several other websites, asking them to send bots to update your blog.
This will make your site pop up on google etc much faster.
Don't overuse it though, overusing this site can make the sites you ping angry, so... just don't.

Some last good advide i have to tove you is this:
Google like old websites, google trusts them.
So even if you got better written content it may still be difficult to beat a website that has been there for years. "Old is best, old is golden" keep that in mind.
